From The Diary of a Social Media Intern, We Never Saw This One Coming…
This morning there was a team meeting held about some new features coming to Crowd Factory’s Social Offer product. After that meeting our friend and summer intern Forrest Greene gave us some of his own thoughts and feedback on his experience so far – it was quite interesting to hear this from a fresh set of eyes. So, we said …”mind writing that down for us?” And he did…check this out:
After being with Crowd Factory for a little over a week if I were to write everything I learned it would take up the entire page. To narrow it down, one of the most important lessons I learned so far is the power of marketing research and how getting to know exactly who your customers is important.
When somebody says, “know you target market,” this is more than just knowing the company name and where the headquarters is located. To truly connect with your customers you need to know exactly what type of business that company does, the industry they are in, it even helps to know the size of the marketing department.
To make the perfect social campaign, we at Crowd Factory like to know what our customers hope to accomplish by using our campaign and how much they spend annually on marketing. This research is not difficult and if the proper time and effort are put in positive results will show a lot sooner than you may think. I have spent the past few days doing such research and with my desk being so close to the sales department, the way their phones are ringing, I know this marketing research is going to pay off.
