A few weeks ago Crowd Factory was honored to welcome a new team member to our Customer Success team: Kelly Jo Horton.  Kelly has been such a ray of sunshine into the Crowd Factory family.  She comes with the most youthful of spirits, yet has accomplished more than most in a lifetime!

Kelly has a taste for adventure that began in early childhood, and has been building ever since. At the age of 16, she left her home in Sunnyvale, California, to spend a year living in Finland as a Rotary Club Exchange Student. She didn’t know a word of Finnish when she arrived, and she was speaking, reading and writing the language when she left a year later.  Let’s see what else can you say about Kelly, well she:

• Can ride a unicycle
• Met Prince Andrew before he married Fergie
• Traveled 36 countries (including 3 in one day on her 17th birthday).
• Was in a Chuck Norris movie at 19

Now, given that Crowd Factory is a Social Media company, we asked Kelly if she were to create a daily status for a profile what would she say, Kelly…:

• Received a Primetime Engineering Emmy® for “Outstanding Achievement in Engineering Development” as the technical lead on the Showtime Sports Interactive TV app.
• Participated in Ignite Portland once and plans to do it again.
• Ran the Carlsbad Marathon in 4:15:10 in 2009.
• Has three Twitter accounts, three Facebook accounts, three email accounts, three websites, one LinkedIn account, and one Google+ account.
• Dislikes blue cheese and liver.
• Thinks mullets are funny.
• Was on the phone with a customer in San Jose, California,  during the earthquake of 1989 and said, “Can you just hold on a minute? I need to get to the door frame.”
• Was blogging before the term was coined.
• Is the daughter of an entrepreneur.
• Grew up in Silicon Valley.
• Is a middle child (shocking, I know).
• Bought a one-way ticket around the world when she was 24, and traveled solo until she ran out of money six months later.
• Saw the aurora borealis while cross country skiing somewhere north of the Arctic Circle in Finland.
• Has seen the sunrise over the Great Pyramids of Giza from the back of a camel.
• Used to perform improv comedy at ComedySportz in Portland.
• Is a foot model.
• Performs random acts of chocolate.
• Loves, loves, loves her job at Crowd Factory!
